Bakers Corner

Another late Friday night in Bakers Corner.

Marek's brother, Peter, has just arrived in Ireland so we had a party back in Marek's house afterwards. Drank everything we could find, then went out for more.

Venu Brasserie

The Babyfood Medical department at work took me out to dinner to say thanks for playing Chris Tarrant and presenting their Millionaire game recently.

Great food, awful service, and I saw Eamonn Dunphy there. Will give it another chance.

Found my way into Cafe en Seine afterwards with Barbara and Aoife.

Depeche Mode, Point

Enjoy the Silence

At long last I got to see the Mode live.

Met up with John, Alan and Big Jon in the Harbourmaster before the gig (I was only an hour late). We got there just as the gig started, so our view from the back of the crowd wasn't great, but the gig was excellent and I'll never forget "Enjoy the Silence" and "Never Let Me Down Again".

Bumped into Fiona and her friends in the smoking corral.

Afterwards, went to a "Depeche Mode Party" in the White Horse. Seemed a bad idea at first and the crowd was very gay, but we loved singing along to "Everything Counts" and pretending we were at the famous Rosebowl concert.

Robbie on Tour

Robbie's second gig in Galway.

The first Galway gig in Cuba on Eyre Square went down so well, our favourite Alleged Comedian was asked back for another go. However, the audience seemed to be there for the air show so it didn't go as well this time. Ended the night in the club below Cuba before stumbling back to the B&B. I could hear Robbie snoring from halfway down the street - not an exaggeration.

Naturally, I recorded his stretorations so let me know if you want a copy of the sound file...

The After Party

The Amazing Tiger Boy with Nora, Tamlyn, Hilary and Mike.

The Wedding of the Year

Tamlyn and Niall's wedding on 24 June 2006.

Of course I was late for the church, but so was everyone else so that was OK.

Great party afterwards in Castleknock Hotel, the entertainment during dinner is something I'll never forget... a trio of Asian musicians who had everyone singing and dancing.
