Morrissey @ Marlay Park

"I entered nothing, and nothing entered me" -yeah, right Morrissey, we believe you.

The Queen may be dead, but Morrissey is still the King. First of the Marlay Park gigs this year...

... but what's up with the bar closing so early?!

Go West, young man

More pics from the trip out west...

The West's Awake!

Marek's Slovakian friend Marika was in Ireland for the weekend, so Marek, Thomas and I decided to take a drive out West to show her some of the country.

We booked a B&B in a town called Roosky (which gave the Slovaks a laugh) but when we got there, they had lost our reservation and were full! We eventually found one room in Carrick-on-Shannon, in a B&B run by a cute Lithuanian girl.

We found a great bar called Havana in Carrick and got nicely toasted. Walked back to the B&B singing a Slovakian drinking song... Po jebali conje vos....

After breakfast cured our sore heads, we drove west, went out in a rowing boat on Lough Key, stopped at Lough Arrow, drove on to Rosses Point, saw Benbulbin and the grave of WB Yeats, went climbin on some cliffs in Donegal, found a nice beach and eventually stopped for dinner in Donegal town.

After a long day, we took the scenic route home through Northern Ireland, via Enniskillen, then down through Cavan and Meath.

At the end of the road, in Swords, I rang my brother John to wish him happy birthday and by coincidence he was at a party on the next street!
