Sunday Roast

The Dublin Fringe Festival is on!

Sunday Roast is a weird collection of bands, poetry, magicians and other oddballs in a tent floating on Georges Docks.

Alan, Jack and the Tiger Boy, Sack, roast potatoes, portaloos and a sore head in work the next day.

Knightsbridge

A quick pint in the Grange after work led to a night on the town, and for reasons I can't adequately explain we ended up in Knightsbridge.

I lost my beer and my dignity, I was just happy to escape with my life...

Jake the Tiger

Driving back to Dublin from Stradbally (Electric Picnic), not much sleep the night before - what did I expect, camping beside the Dance Tent!

Anyway, Jake the tiger kept me awake. You all right there, Jake?

Electric Picnic Day 3

2006 must be the year of the washed out festivals... so bad, I had to buy a pair of wellies.

Sun came out later, Jerry from Derry and his wee missus showed up. Pet Shop Boys, comedy tent, more Indian food, Alabama 3, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and headline act, Basement Jaxx. Some more great little acts in the fringe tents, and found The Grit again. So good, I bought their album.

Electric Picnic Day 2

Gary Numan, Dynamo, The Frames, Groove Armada and of course, New Order. Found this fantastic stall selling th ebest Indian food ever. Ever! Having said that, I was in the body & Soul tent for a while before I got the munchies...

It started to rain, so I wandered into a tent and discovered a Christian Rock band on stage. "Oh there is a light, and it shines on you, oh there will always be a river" etc. Singers were pretty hot though, for Christians.

Dynamo... great craic! The Ace of Spades in Dixie style.

Electric Picnic Day 1

Hooray! No rain!

Pitched my tent right besdie the main Dance Tent - in hindsight, not really a good idea!

Damian Rice, Massive Attack, Mogwai and a great punk rock band called The Grit, also a strange woman who came on stage wearing nothing but glitter, and proceeded to wash it all off. No a blade of hair on her, no, not even eyebrows...
